Surviving the School Holidays

We are rapidly approaching the start of the summer holidays (apologies to those in Scotland and Northern Ireland or private schools who have been on them for a while already and for whom this post is probably less then helpful!)… so here are our top tips to survive them (and to make sure your children keep learning whilst having fun ready for their return to school in September).

In our opinion the most important thing to do is to plan…

  • Ask your children what they want to do over the break and make a list
  • Make sure that your junk modelling and craft supplies boxes are well stocked (and make playdough)
  • Have a selection of board games / books ready to fill the ‘I’m bored’ moments
  • Find out what (cheap) holiday activities your local museums / attractions are offering

I’m planning a series of blog posts about our holiday learning activities – which will hopefully inspire you find some more things to do – so please do come back and have a look!
