Today is International Women’s Day a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. It has been observed since the early 1900s, celebrating and empowering women the world over.
Every year on 8th March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A whole range of local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from
political rallies, business conferences, government activities, networking events and live performances through to local markets, informal get-togethers, fashion parades and more.
Mumsclub celebrated women in business today by announcing the winners of their Mumsclub awards and despite the fact that I had been both nominated and shortlisted I really expected this post to end with a ‘sadly I didn’t win but congratulations to all of the winners’ but today didn’t go as I assumed it would!
Whilst I was picking up Littlest Littlesheep from nursery this video was posted on the Mumsclub site…
and I was very surprised to see that I’d been given the Special Recognition award.
Thank you to all the judges for giving me this award and congratulations to all of the other finalists and winners and well done to everyone else who was nominated or shortlisted you are all fantastic.
These awards are fantastic for celebrating the achievement of women in business and I hope that all the winning women featured will be an inspiration to other women to start their own business.
